Uniden Bearcat 996xt cutting out

Hi - I recently purchased a bearcat 996xt and it works great! I had the scanner pre-programmed before it came and everything works out great there, too. The only problem that I'm getting right now is that when audio comes across the scanner, there is audio for about 3-4 four seconds and then it stops for a second or two, then starts back up again. I was wondering if there is a setting I need to change or something? Thank you for your help!

It sounds like you have either "Close Call" or a "Priority" channel enabled.

I just had the same problem on my BCD396XT and it was caused by the Weather Priority Alert being turned on. I turned the alert off and everything is fine now.
