It is a good basic ANALOG scanner, reception is good with right antenna. You must program manually, NO computer programming here, NO trunking Analog or Digital. All depends where you are and what you want to listen to. Very good for Air Band, small size.

I have one stored away that I haven't used in ages. I agree with questnz, it's pretty good on the airband and, IIRC, it did pretty well with the 2 meter HAM band and some local UHF frequencies.

Manually programming it is a PITA if you have a lot of freqs to enter, but if you have patience, it can be done.

Actually you may be better of with BC125AT, 10 banks of 50 memories, computer programmed, excellent on Air and take anywhere size. Still ANALOG only no fancy features either but good value for money.

And it has alpha tags, whereas the 355N does not.

The Uniden BC125AT is the always go with me analog scanner. Works great for Air, Marine, Ham, CB, GMRS/FRS/MURS, etc.
