JUST WONDERING IF ANYBODY HAS HAD TO DEAL WITH UNIDEN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTIVES. I FIND THEM LESS THAN DESIREABLE TO DEAL WITH. I SENT MY 296 IN FOR REPAIR BEFORE THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT FOR A SECOND TIME.

They deal with frustrated people all day. I hope you didn't speak to them in CAPITAL letters. That would turn off a cheerful person quickly.
Second repair in one year? Just how gentle are you with this radio ?
Remember how much you paid for it.

UNIDEN CUSTOMER DERVICE

WELL I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY I WAS GETTING DIFFERENT STORIES FROM THEM. AS FOR MY SCANNER I HAVE HAD A SCANNER SINCE 1977 SO I KNOW HOW TO TREAT MY RADIO. AND YES I WAS SPEAKING CLEARLY AND NOT SPEAKING IN CAPITAL LETTERS. THEY TOLD ME DIFFERENT STORIES EVERY TIME I CALLED.

YMB ---- what Dubbin is trying to say is that printing in capital letters is a form of yelling- I dealt with a rep today , and he was of great help- hey you can get a lemon in any product.

I didn't have any problem with the person that I talked to when I called. I didn't even have to wait on hold that long. Someone told me awhile back that whenever you call them you have to wait on hold for a good amount of time. I probably didn't have to wait 5 minutes.

I broke the VFO/Select knob on my BC780XLT. I sent an email to Uniden's customer service requesting information on how I could order that part. Uniden requested my address so that they could ship me the part free of charge. The knob arrived a day later. I don't have any problem with Uniden's customer service.
