Hi all,

I was wondering if the Uniden E-Scanner basic program can be used to manually program frequencies and alpha tags into a Uniden BC-785D scanner? Also, is there a better free program out there that can be used to program and operate the above listed scanner?

Thanks
Dan..

The software section of the article below (all links are in blue) lists all the software known to work with the 785...

Personally speaking, you should break the bank a little and get ProScan or ARC250. Both will do what you want, but will cost you a little. Control Freq Jr. hasn't been worked on, AFAIK, in years. The Excel files directory no longer exists, so trying to determine how to set the files up properly might be challenging.

You get what you pay for. Just stay away from Scancat Lite Plus....in addition you will need a USB-serial converter, unless you are fortunate enough to be using an older PC that still has serial ports. The USB-1 is not rated to work with the 785, but the Monoprice link is a possibility. The article is here...
