I have been reading about anti Chinese rioting in Vietnam. I am hoping that these events did not and do not affect the Uniden factory or your workers. I seem to recall in the distant past that a Uniden factory in (I think) Malaysia was burned down during some kind of civil unrest. I hope that history didn't and doesn't repeat itself.

Good question

I was wondering the same thing . . .

As I understand it, a decision made by the Chinese government about GRE's factory location is what eventually pushed GRE out of the scanner production business.

Uniden factory was not affected.

GRE factory story is partially correct. GRE had several years notice prior to the factory area shutdown. Most reports claim a sudden decision by the Chinese government.

Not sure what your comment or question means. Maybe you posted to the wrong thread? Scanner priority can cause the audio to drop out every few seconds.
