Ive called every number I can find on the web, and have YET to find anyone other than a computer tree with no option to talk to an operator.

Anyone have a phone number at Uniden where someone will answer the phone?

Ill try that number on Monday I guess. The one I called I held for over an hour on speakerphone while I was working in the office on other stuff, and no one ever answered. At 4pm I gave up and when home :)

Nearly all questions that come into our call center could have been handled equally well (or better in the case of location-specific issues) and almost certainly faster if asked in this forum.

Try 800-620-7531, I finally had luck with someone answering the phone here pretty quickly.

I also did call Parts the other day and finally had someone answer the phone.

I had a FAX number (817) 858-2855 provided on a form letter sent to me, constant busy, this was a month ago. Just for kicks I just called the FAX number now, guess what, still busy!!!!

Uniden you should really check and see what is up with the (817) 858-2855 FAX number. If you are paying for the number, you are not getting anything for your money.

If the amount of activity in these forums is any indication of the number and content of calls the Uniden call center would receive, I would guess that about 50 people working round the clock would need to be employed to answer questions and provide information that is already 99.95% covered by reading the manual or the forums on this site.

My UPS tracking number on the scanner they promised to send out to me last Tuesday is not in the manual...that was my 0.05% reason for trying to call them. I still have no idea if they even sent a replacement out. Ill just wait until next Tuesday, and if its not back by then, Ill drive down there and get one in person.

For some reason, UPS did not notify us of your inbound shipment. So, the first we knew of it being on the way was when it showed up on Friday. We immediately shipped the replacement, which you will receive on Monday. 1Z7562351335845170

Up to about 3pm on Friday, I could have contacted someone and gotten you an answer. After that, I had to wait until both our and the UPS system updated, since our fulfillment center closes around 3 (they come in very early ...). Could probably have answered yesterday, but personal matters kept me away from the PC most of the day. Saturday, go figure.

Thank you. I had to work Saturday too.

Next time, You really should not reply on UPS to notify you. They are horrible as you can see. Why not just let the customer notify you on the web page when they sent their scanner in, then you could verify. I would have liked to see cross-ship with CC guaranteed return, which is how most companies I have dealt with in situations like this do it. Would have eliminated all the "where is my scanner" issues I have seen on the original thread.

Again, thanks for your reply and info, and the time it took you to research it. They really should give you raise :)

It was a trade-off between UPS reliability and anti-fraud measures. Overall, UPS has been pretty good about providing us with notifications. Your's is only the 2nd package that was a "surprise arrival" so far.

On the bright side, due to the timing and the weekend, I think you'd have gotten it Monday either way...just with a bit less angst in the middle.

Worked out for you guys for sure...when I found out I had to send the scanner back, I bought a 436, which I hadnt planned on getting until later this summer, to use while the 536 was gone. After one road trip with it across the state (entering zips as I went), I ordered the GPS for it. Good unit. Was surprised at the range, Even connected to a 800Mhz gain antenna on the roof, it picked up railroads, and all sorts of stuff on VHF and UHF. Picked up my local P25 site out to over 55 miles.
