Uniden HomePatrol-2 in Kent Co/Grand Rapids

Hello,

I was thinking of buying a Uniden HomePatrol-2... will I even be able to monitor GRPD, Kent Co Sheriff... anymore?

Unfortunately ALL law enforcement in Kent County is currently encrypted. You will only be able to listen to FD.

And Kent County uses simulcast. I'm not sure how well the HP's do with simulcast. The SDS-200/100 would be better bets.

I have a home patrol 2 in Allegan County and it works great. I often have it around Kent co and easily pick up a lot of surrounding counties.…and by using only stock antenna. Although you won’t be able to pick up Kent co or GRPD, fire and state troopers come in great, as do statewide and special event channels. Hope you enjoy.

iam in an area all three counties are Simulcast night and day between my 436 and 100 iget get nothing less that the sds100 or 200
