I live in RI and have fair to poor results listening to the C/O Providence FD. I live at an elevation of 484 AMSL with a Hustler Mobile antenna on the peak of my home, dedicated to my Home Patrol for RISCON. I do not have a problem listenng to Newport, North Providence,Coventry and Narragansett FDs

I have acomplished the rebanding and since have listened to Prov FD. The last 3 days PFD is gone.

I also have a 996 with the same antenna. It receives the PFD perfectly fine

Also, my local PD changed over to RISCON, Radio Reference has the updates-- Home Patrol Sentinel Software has not updated yet

I am looking resolve these issues, any help from some scanner guru's??

Love my homepatrol got it at hell mart with a discount. I do regret getting the extreme update, I don't think I will use it. I love just putting the zip in and listen. Used to each time I went somewhere I would have to look up the info, call me lazy but I love it. The digital sometimes is hard to understand. I have to listen very closely to the state troopers to understand. It is nice to select what you want to hear. Anytime I go to an event I leave it in the car and set it on record. I know I need help but I even take it to church. It can be interesting when the production equpiment goes down mayday mayday lol.

I love my home patrol,the paint on the sides has worn off I use it so much!I remedied that with some mineral spirits now its shiny.Put next to a 996XT,its audio is sub par (quiet) but it does have a line out for stereo connection.Its nice to be able to tap a screen and stop on whatever you want to hear.
The extreme upgrade is good if you aren't using the computer program for inputting channels.The receive is the same as my 996xt and its fast and sensitive.The batteries that come with it we will say are CRAP!I always charge them and they still went bad.
This thing needs a Bluetooth GPS unit.

The database updates are issued (just about) every Monday morning. If what you are looking for is in the RR database, it will be included when you update your Home Patrol.

The update is not an automatic process. The update to your Home Patrol is a two step manual process.

First you need to update the master database in Sentinel, and then be sure to "write" it to your Home Patrol.

Check the database version in your Home Patrol......

From the main listening screen, select MENU ---> ADVANCED MENU ---> scroll down arrow ---> VERSION INFORMATION

What does it say for the date of the database there?
