I am about to buy a my first digital scanner and wondering what some people might think, Radioshack or Uniden. Which is better? The reason I ask is because Radioshack digital scanners just went down a 100 bucks so should I just go with them.

Brodie ~ That works for me ! Now with the Pro-106 and Pro-197 down $100 bucks to just $399.99
It will be curious to see if these models will eventually go on sale ... and how low will the price go ?

I have had my RS Pro-106 for well over a year now and love it !
Of course I don't think my other scanners appreciate it as much
as they hardly ever get much use anymore ... I say save at The Shack :))

My answer to your first question would of course be "Radio Shack". Certainly the lower prices are something to consider. What you really need to look at is the TOTAL cost. Will you need other items to complete this 'purchase'? Items such as: programming cable, programming software, AC adapter, printed manual, batteries, antenna, etc? If all you need is the scanner, then certainly the '106 is a deal today. If you need some of these other items as well, I'd check out ScannerMaster or other 'retailers'.
