I tried researching this first. Cannot find an answer. Do the bc898t and the bct15 use the same ac adapter ? .

Funny you should mention that particular radio. I am programming a BC898T even now. Nice radio.

Yeah if only it did P25 and DMR and more types of trunking. And also if it had alpha tagging.

But for what it is, it is indeed a stellar radio. Best speaker I have ever heard on a scanner as well. The plug is 12 volts, 500ma, center positive. I am guessing you knew that already. But you asked. Sorta.

Someone said the other day, that it's a beaut. also. I agree.I should have bought 2. My bcd325p2 does trunking, phase 1 and 2. My bcd436hp does fire toneout, closecall and search. My bcd396xt is basically my car radio now. I take it in,if too hot/cold.

Same for the 996 and 536. The only possible difference is the maximum current required. A 1-amp power supply will handle any of them.

I think some years ago they switched from transformer based supplies to switching ones. Cheaper I suppose and a bit smaller and lighter.

More efficient, too. As long as RFI is dealt with, there's really no downside.
