Currently using alkaline batteries. Can I damage the unit or the batteries if I don't take them out before using DC power?
Didn't know there was a switch. I just checked both my radios and they defaulted to alkaline. While I'm here, I have a follow-up question. The other side of the switch is labeled NIMH. Can I assume that it is OK to use and charge lithium rechargeables as well?Shouldn't hurt a thing... As long as you have the switch in the battery compartment set correctly...
So as not to try and charge the alkaline batt's...
Ty- wouldn't be too much fun blowing up the radio on the highway.No... Only Nickle Metal Hydride rechargeable batt's (NIMH)
Be carefull now... 14500 lithims are 3.7v apiece and the same size as AA batt's...
A good way to go "Up in Smoke"...
There are 1.5v AA lithium rechargeable batteries. I still wouldn't charge them in the radio though.Ty- wouldn't be too much fun blowing up the radio on the highway.![]()
