When remotely accessing the SDS200 scanner via ProScan's remote access feature, I notice that the channel button disappears from the display. In order to turn on the numbered channel, you are supposed to press "channel" button again, at the end of the number access sequence, but the channel button is no longer visible within the remote access display window when you reach that part of the sequence. If I press the blank channel button, it will transition to the numbered channel. But, the alpha numeric part of the channel button is no longer visible, there's just a green bar above where the alpha numeric display is normally seen that is supposed to display "CHANNEL." This might be something to put on the list for a firmware update at Uniden. I have reported this to ProScan, and they advise that this discrepancy is not something in their programming, but something that needs to be corrected in the Uniden software.

That's funny. I was just asking myself, while remoting in just 10 minutes ago, why the text vanishes on keypad buttons System Dept and Channel....

Bob at ProScan just sent me a message that he did a work around and the Channel button should now have the alpha numeric channel description on there now. I have yet to check it out, but will do so as soon as I get the chance.

I just tried it to select a channel, and I did not notice that there was a alpha numeric channel display, as you said, all of the buttons are blank at that part of the sequence. But, it may be that ProScan will need to send an update for the changes to be included. But, I have yet to receive an update notice via ProScan. He just made the change, so I'll wait for it, and check it again when an update arrives.

The workaround will be in the next release. The problem is when entering in number tags, the softkeys text disappears in the scanner display. The ProScan virtual display shows the scanner display exactly.

Frankly, I prefer that ProScan mirrors the actual SDS display. I've never had any issue with the behavior, however if the general consensus is that a workaround is desired, so be it.

It does mimic the SDS display exactly, but the SDS display omits the System, Dept, and Channel alpha numeric characters displaying when you enter into doing the numbering sequence, at the end of the sequence when you have to press Channel to initiate the Channel Number. Fortunately, it still works when you press that soft key, but the display that is generally on the soft key button within the display has disappeared.

This image shows the workaround. When a Number Tag entry is detected then "CHANNEL" will show. Notice the two consecutive dots. That's a legal Number Tag entry.
