Who cares who pockets the money as long as somebody hits them in the shorts. Then they will think twice before sending us on a Marry-Go-Round for a year again.

It never hurts until somebody reaches into your pocket book, then you feel the pain.

and ultimately, that is the only way companies stop acting slimy, is when it costs them money.

Look, it's this simple. Don't buy Uniden products. I stopped buying them when it was proven that they lack a proper I-Q demodulator for P25 CQPSK-LSM.
When a company doesn't listen to it's customers and keeps putting 10 pounds of dung into a 5 pound bag that leaks-people should NOT buy it.

As far as features not being delivered, that is where civil courts can offer relief, but so can state's attorney general and FTC. If enough people complain, these agencies might actually take action. Simply put, companies cannot falsely advertise and sell a product or service they have no intention of delivering.

Can you believe AT&T Mobility is being sued by the FTC over their throttling of unlimited data users? Now who knows how much they will have to pay, a few minutes profit I'm sure...

Update: FTC sues AT&T for throttling bandwidth of 'unlimited' data customers | Computerworld

So there IS hope. But ultimately, vote with your wallet. Stop buying their products. I did.

That's funny you bring up this point about ATT&T. A couple of years ago I had an iPhone 4 from Verizon and had an unlimited plan and the internet hardly ever worked right and it was really slow. Once I went to the iPhone 5 and had to go on their paid internet plan then it was way faster. I think they have finally gone away from an unlimited plan on Verizon.

I catch my cable company doing it to me here and there. You pay for a certain bandwidth plan and its slow on the internet. You tend to wonder what these companies are doing behind your back. It would probably make your toes curl

Gotta be kidding me.. Calling my dial-a-lawyer to see what hell I can give them this is unacceptable.

Paul I am seriously upset with your decisions in communication, your company has failed. I will never purchase another scanner from Uniden again.

After being as patient as I can be about the 536, I will say it now, this feels like nothing more that being kicked down, stepped on and a little bit of dirt kicked in my eyes.

Sorry Uniden, this is VERY disappointing.

My patience and faith in your company has all but vanished.

I not only feel bad for Uniden as a company, but for all of us "slighted" customers.

I'm glad I got rid of my *36HPs a while back when those scanners still retained high value. Your best bet is to just dump them and take what you can get. It's been 10 months and NO sign of WiFi or Analyze Mode. Uniden has moved on to the Home Patrol 2. For those of us that purchased a *36HP should be given a huge discount on a HP-2 or at least a free Extreme upgrade.

The easiest place to start is to flood their social network pages with negative reviews and complaints. Not once, but 5-10 times a day. Let them and future customers know what we think.

https://www.facebook.com/UnidenAmerica

Here is the twitter account. Flood it with complaints.
@Uniden_America

Also do searches on Amazon and add comments to their products.

If we keep this up, sooner or later it will get noticed.

Strange, its not up for me.

I get 'The page you requested is unavailable & content not found.
All other fb pages load normally.

Interesting. Have you refreshed your browser on that page?

There is another possibility. Fb can block certain users. Maybe I'm on 'the list'

It's still there and I just posted. I'm also sharing to all my friends on all the Social Media formats I have accounts to warning them to be cautious about Uniden.

On a side note, here in my area the local news station has a consumer fraud investigation department that does weekly news cast and Facebook reports on how companies try to get over on consumers. Do they have something like that in the DFW area?

I think every station has investigative journalists. Here: CBS, NBC, and ABC.

And to think I almost got booted off of RR for some satirical, snarky comments I posted about Uniden and this very issue a week or so ago.

What a difference the release of the HP - 2 made to that narrative. Except maybe for Jay911, I notice most if not all of the Uniden fan boys and girls have gone mute.

I have always been a big supporter of Uniden, they started to lose me around August when nothing was announced.

I am now giving Whistler a second look going forward. Looks like they may be the big winners after the smoke clears.

The one place a person won't be able to criticize the HP-2 is the Uniden Scanners page over on Facebook. I know it's not an official Uniden page (at least I don't think it is), but it must be owned by a fanboy.

I made a post critical of the HP-2 release around noon. A few people liked it, but then I noticed it disappeared. I made a second post saying, "I guess criticizing the HP-2 gets your post deleted." It wasn't too long after that that I noticed the group was missing from my groups list. I guess the admin didn't like my criticizing the deletion of my post so he kicked me out. I visited the page like I wanted to join and sure enough, instead of the white "joined" button, there was the green "join" button instead. The admin won't answer my PM, that tells me a lot about his character right there), so oh well, no big deal. There are plenty of good scanner pages to follow on FB; pages that will let you speak your mind

Okay, sorry about the slight detour. Now back to our regularly scheduled Uniden bashing. :D

:)

We are forgetting about the true victims here, "typical customers Joe, Bob, Mable, Billy Ray, and Jeff."
Joe's agency canned the Phase II system and opted for TRBO
Bob, hit by a car as he was squinting his eyes to read the text while out on neighborhood watch
Mable, her own damn fault-too much gossiping about the neighbors-all encrypted now
Billy Ray, lap full of radio after hitting a speed bump
Jeff, just wanted his info fix without looking like a radio geek, he has been shut out for nearly a year.

I have been a big supporter of Uniden and will continue to be but sure want to see some improvements.
