If your talking about the Uniden Scanners FB page then you are correct, post do get deleted if your post are not in support of Uniden. But it's his page so he can do with it as he pleases. To bad it's just one sided.

On a side note, here in my area the local news station has a consumer fraud investigation department that does weekly news cast and Facebook reports on how companies try to get over on consumers. Do they have something like that in the DFW area?

Yes they do and I have several contacts in news media which I have contacted. Especially one that has a specific special interest in scanners.

This appears to be the best angle because I am sure once media pressures them and starts asking for answers publicly they will have to provide some sort of answers.

And to think I almost got booted off of RR for some satirical, snarky comments I posted about Uniden and this very issue a week or so ago.

What a difference the release of the HP - 2 made to that narrative. Except maybe for Jay911, I notice most if not all of the Uniden fan boys and girls have gone mute.

While I'm not a "fan boy" as you put it, I do like my Uniden BCD536HP scanner. I'm sitting here listening to it right now and it is doing its usual great job. It's never shown any major issues since I've had it, so I don't have much to complain about. I do look forward to the addition of analyze and the SIREN/wifi features, and I don't believe that Paul and Uniden have abandoned the x36 scanners and that we will eventually see the awaited features. I hope it's soon of course, but like everyone else, I'll have to wait.

I totally understand why many are upset about the announcement of the HP2, and I don't fault them at all. The announcement didn't upset me in any way because I never thought to begin with that Uniden would halt all other things scanner related until they got the analyze/wifi issue fixed. It's a large enough company, and I figure they routinely work on things simultaneously.

The sad truth here is that even after everyone has finished stomping a mudhole in Uniden, Uniden will still deliver the missing features.

Can you guarantee that? Yeah, didn't think so.

They have no choice but to deliver the missing features. It's what they advertised, printed on the box, and charge the higher price for. The problem will lie if they fail to get it to work or if they make no statements and hope it just goes away.

This whole mess could have been avoided if Uniden would have done more updates on the status. I've always said users are more willing to be supportive when kept informed than the silence that has been coming from Uniden. Yes I know there were a few updates on the wifi / app status but no question has been answered in the analizer feature.

I find this hilarious! What if the auto industry worked like that?

Another sad truth I've realized here is that so many technologically inclined forum users apparently believe that one of the last major scanner manufacturers left in the US only works on one design project at a time.

If the auto industry worked like this then there would be no auto industry. Just like the scanner industry tanking in front of our own eyes.

Can you see why GRE slowly walked away from the market. It's a no brainer at this point.

They do. They're are working several years out. Seems to me everyone of them is undergoing major recalls, which in some cases are a design issue. They still keep designing and selling newer models.

GRE didn't slowly walk away, they were here one day and gone the next.

I wish someone would tell the REAL story of what happened to GRE..I know, more or less, but was told in confidence so I can't share.

As we all know Uniden is a larger electronics company. Scanners are not there bread and butter and I'm sure that the scanner section is not as large as there other department. You can't simply take from other departments and have them work on scanners. If it was as vast as you think it is then being an electronic company they could have built there own internal wifi dongle and it wouldn't have taken this long to fix the problems. If you seen any of Upmans videos than you would have seen his engineers are located Japan. Look up his video on YouTube.

Seeing you only have 29 post here you may have been unaware of the overseas part.

Makes no difference whatsoever.

Large companies rarely design in a linear fashion. R&D happens more or less continuously. If you have any numbers that back up a contention that their scanner section only (or should only) work one project at a time, by all means, let us know.

"Seeing you only have 29 post here you may have been unaware of the overseas part."

Actually I know about the overseas part seeing as how 3 of the Uniden scanners I own included me researching them before I purchased them.

And exactly what does "only 29 posts" have to do with anything?

Is there a numbers qualification on this forum before a post can be considered somehow relevant?

My info is just based on years of being on this forum and what has been posted by Uniden in the past such as the video, were the engineers are, and the facilities, etc.

But as you stated "Makes no difference whatsoever and were all technologically inclined forum users"

So there is since if continuing this discussion with you.

So if what you're saying is accurate. Then wouldn't you think R&D would have had a working protocol months if not years from what you're saying prior to announcing some of the features of this new scanner that have yet to be delivered in almost a year since it was announced and since it has been launched.

Another thing you don't know is Uniden wants to dump their scanner program. Paul is the only one keeping it alive. If it wasn't for Paul it would be gone. This is in no way justifying Paul or Uniden's action but, Paul isn't Uniden and he is trying to put out fires and keep a dept going without fire engines. This still doesn't excuse the fact.
