Interesting reading for sure. NOT

Shouldn't this be private correspondence?

Well, from my Captain's Chair, since I have a "hurt" HP-1(E), I was VERY interested in this discourse. And I also found the "Link" to the "Weather Station" to be a VERY INTERESTING bonus!

Update (to help any non-Captains if they have the same issue in the future) :

I finally got through the phone this morning. There was an additional payment due, but I was never contacted despite Uniden having my phone and e-mail. Also the online notes never reflected any payment due, just the notation "IN LINE TO BE SHIPPED," and an estimated ship date 2 weeks ago.

Uniden's repair service itself is the best I've ever encountered with an electronics firm, but just a suggestion to UPman: the long wait times may be due to the fact that people have to call in to get this info, and its not reflected on the online status. I never got a postcard, never notified by email or phone.

If payment is due, customer could be sent an email (or at least posted online) and allow for payment via the web.

Thanks to everyone or their help.

Sounds like a similar issue I ran into about 2 years ago and things have not changed.

I had a credit card canceled/replaced after the Target store data breach while I had a scanner in for repair.

I had sent ALL of my contact info.

Never a post card, email or phone call.

I received via snail mail a letter that said if I did not pay for the repair within 2 weeks of the letter the scanner would be disposed of. Problem was the letter was already about 5 days into the 2 week period when I received it.

I attempted to call the phone number on the letter because I was worried if I snail mailed the payment back it would be beyond the 2 weeks with weekends and so forth.

The phone number on the letter was constantly busy. I finally was able to get someone in a very different area of Uniden via a different phone number to help.

Just for fun I called the number on the Uniden Repair boiler plate letter that was sent to me over 2 months on and off even very late at night, you guessed it, ALWAYS busy! Paying for a phone number that does not work or is off hook for months/years at a time??

Probably still busy if I called it today.

Not sure what is wrong with Uniden Repair and the Administration of things. Sure would be VERY nice if someone took ownership of the debacle and cleaned up the mess, corrected the phone numbers on the boiler plate letter, made sure physical addresses were correct and offered a web portal that worked where you could "really" understand what is going on and make additional payment if necessary.

I don't presently have a dog in this fight, but I would add that many companies have, on their websites, as part of their customer service, the option for email and/or live chat contact.

same issue hear sent the scanner in three weeks ago, the repair status says "Results could not be found for the information you entered." and support isn't answering the phones. they might as well wave the $70 repair fee this is unacceptable.
