Here is my list of Serial Number series for recent Uniden scanners that use the 3xxZnnnnnnnn styling. I have a few models that I believe use the same styling but do not have access to one to see what series they use.

I find it interesting that there are series missing, I suppose they use the same styling for other products as well.

319Z BC296D
328Z BCD396T
335Z BCD996T
336Z BCT15
359Z BCD396
360Z BCD996XT
361Z BCT15X
363Z HP-1
370Z BC125AT
375Z BCD536HP
376Z BCD436HP
377Z HP-2
378Z BCD996P2
379Z BCD325P2
383Z SDS100

I don't have number series for the below radios. Also, if you know of older scanners that also use this series please add to the list. I will eventually set up a Wiki page once we fill in the blanks.

BC365CRS
BC355N
BC346XT
BC75XLT
BR330T
BC780XLT

In dealing with the x36hp series and the SDS my observation has been that the
digit after the Z and followed by 8 is the year of manufacture.

ie 480xxxxxx made in 2014
580xxxxxx made in 2015
680xxxxxx made in 2016, etc

The SDSs I recently purchased were 880xxxxxx indicating made in 88.

Here is my list. It needs serial number prefix and FCC ID for the SC230. I have never seen a photo with the belt clip removed so the label is not readable.

Thanks pro92b! I will add these to the Wiki.

It appears the BC72XLT is listed twice, once as 365Z and also as 323Z (shared with BC95XLTB)

Yes, I think there are two releases or revisions of the BC72XLT. One source of info is the FCC file when the older release occurred. The other is from the label of my BC72XLT, the later release. Maybe we can get confirmation from other BC72 owners.

Here are two photos from ebay auctions showing the two BC72 versions.

It looks like the older (323Z) one was made in China and the newer one in Vietnam, could be the reason for the new series, a new production run. I suspect the original 72XLT and the BC95XLTb are related as well, perhaps the 95XLTB was a private label job or something.

I wonder if the community wouldn't be better served by adding this info to the list already established at Uniden Scanners - The RadioReference Wiki

I suppose I could add a column for this and keep all the info together. It would also be helpful if those columns could be sortable...

Further info - the 6th character in the serial number indicates the production factory from a post by Upman a while back. 8=Vietnam, 6=Philippines and 4=China. The two BC72 units above do follow this rule. I don't know of other factories in recent times so if you have a unit with a '2' factory indicator, check the label to see where it was made.
