I look on top of the screen when it happens to see if it says encrypt and it doesn't but maybe they are encrypted so logging software is something to try thanks

If you see the same talkgroup exhibit these symptoms, press the Channel Hold button and look for the encryption indicator on the top of the display. If it's partially or fully encrypted, the scanner will display it

You have to be real quick :geek:
The scanner doesn't give you much of a chance to hit the hold. Even if you have a delay set.

most of the time I see a talk group light up on the screen for a second or 2 but it never locks or
gives me audio, just blinks and then it starts scanning again. If It does this a second time I quickly hit channel lock softkey and the TG comes in loud and clear.

If you know what talk group it is, do a system hold, then department, then do channel hold and rotate the wheel until it gets to that tg and let it sit.

Yes I use wide invert

What happens without any filter? I tried those on my 200 and I know everyone's environmental variables are different, but my scanner works best without any filters enabled in my environment.

SDS strange problem
First I want to say:
1- I have my SDS-100 for 2 weeks now
2- I am receiving 4 p25 systems, 1 is an LSM system
3- I am using a ground plane antenna.
4- I have fantastic signals on all 4 systems including the LSM system.
4- rssi are -55 to -70 error count 0-5
The reception is superb no garbled voices solid all around
Here is the problem:
while scanning most of the time I see a talk group light up on the screen for a second or 2 but it never locks or
gives me audio, just blinks and then it starts scanning again. If It does this a second time I quickly hit channel lock softkey and the TG comes in loud and clear. It should stop scanning and open the audio but it doesn't I have to lock it with channel lock softkey to hear it. It happens about 70% of the time sometimes it scans and receives fine then the problem begins again.
It does this on all systems. There must be something to correct this problem I can't figure out what to try.
Please don't suggest hold time or delay time as it has nothing to do with either setting.
Thanks to everyone in advance.
Its trash throw it away and buy a 536hp with a yagi

not sure if this is relevant to your issue, but I had a similar problem on my SDS200. it turned out I had CloseCall enabled and didn't realize it. When it locked on to a channel, the audio would drop unless I hit hold. Once I set CC to off, it worked great.

If you're appending the entire system, it's probably bringing over all the sites from the entire state?

Yea it’s a state wide ststem

Ok...if you append from the database, it brings over all the sites in Sentinel. You then have to go into your Favorite List and delete or avoid all the sites not within your range.

What I do is create my own Favorite Lists (like the video shows), only add the sites within my range (look at the counties section), then add the sites closet to me.
