Sentinel: Uniden sentinal not working on pc

Hi all I have been having problems with this software I got a new computer a little while back with windows 11.
I downloaded and installed software but it will not display the master data base when I click on nationwide or state, county and will not display the frequencies or info. I tried to reconstruct database, update database but it says I have the current version. I even uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems no matter what I do nothing works here is a screen shot. I hope someone can give me an idea why it isn't working I have never had a problem with this software before.

I believe that “current version” relates to the software version of Sentinel, not the database. Once you have Sentinel installed correctly you can then update the database from the tab. Open the tab and you have 2 choices, update firmware (on the radio) & update database. RadioReference.com updates the database weekly on Monday. Your screenshot looks to be a Sentinel software program screen, meaning you’ve already got Sentinel successfully installed. So, go after the database update and see what happens. Hope this helps.

OP has a pretty recent db installed of 3 17 2024.






which is newer than what mine will update to.

Interesting. Suggest waiting another week to see if you can update database. The database is updated weekly on Mondays.

Try this.

1. Stop Sentinel.
2. Navagate to this folder using the File Explorer -> C:\ProgramData\Uniden\BCDx36HP_Sentinel
3. Delete the Database folder
4. Run Sentinel. You should see "Reconstructing Full Database"

See if that fixes the problem.

Reconstructing the database should work at any time regardless of the version. I just did mine 2 times in a row.

The Home Patrol Sentinel database currently updated to 3/24, but the latest available update for the BCDx36HP Sentinel is stuck at 3/10. Looks like there is an ongoing problem with the BCDx36HP update since it's missed the last 2 updates.

I wonder if the OP happened to download a bad copy of the 3/17 update that is shown on his version date, and Uniden took it down realizing it was incomplete shortly after he downloaded it.

Hopefully @JoeBearcat will look into this, but he hasn't been heard from in over a month!

I was able to update the x36HP version of Sentinel to the 3/17 DB date on 3/18. The data seems fine but I can recall Uniden pulling a DB update once due to corrupt data of some type. I think that would have been before the x36/SDS version of Sentinel existed though.
No idea if this happened this time with the x36 data but it is odd the 3/17 DB was reverted back to 3/10 at some point after 3/17 was made available.

And yes, I was able to update the HP1&2 version of Sentinel to the 3/24 DB version as well.

I am not really concerned that much about my Sentinel (because @ProScan RRDB Differences Rocks) but just updated one install I last updated on 12 31 2023 and its gives me 3 10 2024. Guess that says I am not an every Monday type of guy.

I checked, & was able to update to 003/24/2024 a few minutes ago.
