I am going to the Nascar Event at Texas Motor Speedway in November and I have a couple questions about the 230. I hope that I am posting this thread in the right spot.

I've read about the Priority Plus Scan function and I am still uncertain if it will perform what I am wanting it to do.

I would like to be listening to the TV broadcast channel as well as have 4 to 5 channels set in priority. The TV broadcast would always be talking unless one of the other 4 to 5 channels started talking. That way I could keep up with what the TV announcers were saying as well as hear my favorite drivers whenever they talk.

Please let me know your thoughts.

It will work as advertised.
However if you prioritize a large amount of channels you will have substantial gap in your tv coverage.
I use a 330 at the track and have had zero problems.

Does 2 to 3 drivers, the main channel for the Nascar officials, and the race broadcast sound like too much?

I assume that I would set the priority channels in similar way to below:
Priority 1 #24 car
Priority 2 #8 car
Priority 3 #48 car
Priority 4 Nascar
Priority 5 TV Broadcast

That should do, nicely.

I'm not that familiar with the 230.
But I'm sure it has the alert feature.
Set each of the drivers with their own alert tone...it saves having to hold your scanner to see who's talking.
Just finished programming a pro-99, pro-97 and my 330 for the BOA 500 next week.

At the track there venders in the souvenier trailers that sell the freq
sheets they cost around $5.00 and that has the frequencies for all
of the teams and drivers. I would use them to listen to because you
can hear some good stuff on those.
