i posted a thread awhile back telling of a problem in the charging port of my 246t. while many people gave suggestions, none worked. i e-mailed uniden and i got a "send it back to us with 59.99" with my 246t practically broken and useless, i am wondering, has anyone ever sent back a scanner to uniden. how long did it take, and did the repairs work. my biggest fear is not getting the one i have repaired and them telling me to get a new one. any thoughts or comments on unidens repair service

I'm sure you will be ok. And if anyone knows how to fix it they will. If your worried about getting the same one back, write down your serial # on the back of the radio. I doubt very much they would give you someone else's radio. I would expect about a 4 week wait time though between ship date and return date.

I have used them twice for a repair of a 396T. Both times it took about 3 - 4 weeks to get it back. Just make sure you send it with a trackable service. You just go online and get a return authorization number and ship it to the address that is on that form. You can track the repair status online also.
