Unidens Close Call feature on SDR???

A feature that I really miss on my uniden bcd396 was the close call feature. It would zero in on transmissions that were close by. A great way to find the frequency at an event or place where the frequency is unknown.

I'm just wondering if there is any way to replicate this on SDR?

Not really. Close Call uses a frequency counter chip a SDR doesn't have. The best you can do is a band search--maybe 10MHz/second.
