Uninden USC230-E

Hi Foks,
This is my first post so please be gentle...
I have just bought a USC230-E. my main reason for this was for the close call facility.
I intend to use this when I go to events, car, airshows ect..
Having said this I have been trying to get the hang of how to do diferent things with the scanner. I have other scanners( UBC220 XLT )with lots of frequencies and have been trying to transfer these into my 230, this has proved dificult. with the older scanners I would simply go to manual and start puting them in, but this new one is very complicated with groups and edit ect...

I had heard that this new scanner came with preprogramed frequencies.
Does anyone have one of these that could tell me easier ways to get frequencies into it, or as its able to connect to computer does anyone want to sell me a cloned copy I could try and download into it? Is this possible.

As I recall the preprogrammed frequencies are now older racing frequencies. You would be better off inputting your own.

There are a few software packages available for the SC230, one of them being FreeSCAN.

Hey D,
Thanks very much for that, I will be kept busy with al that info, at least for awhile. I am slowly getting the hang of it. The close call facility is great it has picked upsome local signals. I have even managed to get a few frequencies of my own into unit. Still to sort out the groups ect yet....
