Tried programming UCPD in Pro 164 but not getting anything. Has anyone had trouble with them? Im getting Fremont and Newark so I know the frequencies are good. I double and triple checked the alpha tags but still nothing. Have they changed their alpha tags?

Thanks.

I have a PRO-164, and just tuned into them. I am listening to them perfectly fine. The RR database has all the correct info.. Double check programming. Make sure that you also have the latest firmware of your scanner, if its 164 it would be 1.08, and make sure you have your MOT system at "800MHz rebanded" in a program of which your program your scanner with. ( WIN97, WIN500, ect..)

Where are you listening from? Union City PD uses the "Local" freqs whereas Fremont and Newark use "Wide". So if you're in like Pleasanton or Livermore or other outlying areas you won't hear the "Local" freqs.

The County is always moving them around from Wide to Local to Wide. I guess it depends on how much they complain about coverage.

Thanks for the replies. I am listening from UC and get other cities such as Fremont and Newark loud and clear. Using Win97, I programed Uc in one bank and Fremont in the other. I switch back and forth between the programming pages and compare the settings of the two. The Alpha tags are the only difference. Ill get the dispatch alpha tag come in once in awhile but there is no communicating, just static; its like the SQ is too low.

FRUSTRATING!!!

That is very odd. I don't see why that would happen to you. If you would like, I could make up a win97 file, with the proper setting for 800Mhz rebanded network and the Control Channels with the talk groupsof Union City, and send you it to try. If it works on my scanner, and I live in San Lorenzo / Hayward area, I believe you should be able to pick it up just as good as me since your using the exact same scanner. Let me know.
