I have heard from a reliable source that the MARS system will be expanding.

As anyone knows, comm's on 453.150 can be difficult because of the volume of radio traffic.

Keep an ear on 460.100, 460.450, and 471.2625.

Anyone else hear anything?

nothing yet

I haven't heard any traffic on the Union County's Mutual Aid frequencies, other than 453.150. I do hear morse code identification on 460.100 from time to time, but no other radio traffic. I believe 453.050 is another frequency assigned to Union County that's not currently active. They have all these frequencies and really should be making some use out of them. I'm glad to hear that they may.

There has been MUCH talk of expanding the fire mutual aid system in the county. Over the past yr or 2 they've added the tone-alerting on the UCFMA channel and upgraded the CAD system.
460.100 is still a patch to the county trunked system "HOTLINE" talkgroup, for PD use.
460.450 is the EMS M/A channel, with CENCOM and the UCPD monitoring this channel.
471.2675 is an old OEM channel used pre-800 system. Im not sure what its use is currently.
As of now my agency only has the 453.150 and 460.450 in our radios, and were not to use the EMS M/A unless were talking to an ambulance. 453.150 does get congested during incidents, but I know of no other frequency being used in fire M/A. Most FDs in the county also have 453.150 as a simplex as well, which is being used more and more.

New Union County MARS Ops Ch

A decision has been made recently to use
471.2625 (R) as an operations channel if need be.

453.150 will remains dispatch and response.

If you have not added 471.2625 you may want to.
