Hi,

Anyone know if the EDACS Union County Hotline is patched with NJICS Statecom 6?

I was hearing what sounded like UC Hotline talking to Berkeley Heights PD, Watching PD and Long Hill PD a few hours ago:

IDs 2000751, 2000749, 2000738, 2000742, 2000734, 2000745, 2000120, 2022904, 2000724, 2000730, 2022903, 2022905, 2000727, 2000725, 2000747, and 2000729

The IDs that came up were different each time but heard the same voice - thought that was weird.

The EDACS system has been depreciated for a little bit now. Everything that was on that system has since moved over to the NJICS. I think the reason it was patched yesterday though was because Fanwood had a burglary with a man using a rifle. The guy was apprehended on route 22 in Union, but tracked into blue star mall before a pursuit ensued.

All over the map.
Union County Communications has the ability to patch any Union County frequency or talkgroup to any group on the NJICS or NJSP systems, as well as most other conventional frequencies in the county. They went all out in cooperation with the state when they rebuilt the comms center at the Froelich Building in Westfield as many years ago. Some dispatchers use it more heavily than others. A lot of it has to do with the Task Force communications Union County handles for Hazmat, EMS, USAR, etc.

In this case, there had been an armed home invasion in Fanwood, with information about the suspects that led them to believe they may flee into Somerset County. He ended up in Union, as noted but above. But...Hence the patch.
