I believe Union County (Blairsville) has converted to a Kenwood NXDN system but when I look at their FCC licenses, there hasn't been anything list yet showing emission codes for NXDN - it's still all analog conventional. Does anyone have information as to which frequencies to program to monitor both UCSO and UCFD?

Thanks, Vern. But I'm still puzzled as to why Union hasn't petitioned the FCC to modify its emission codes to reflect mixed mode, with both analog conventional and NXDN 6.25. I'm not sure which of their frequencies to program to receive NXDN, i.e., only Rx?

Beats me. I have no concerns about their licenses. A tech once told me that as long as a licensee doesn't exceed their licensed bandwidth [12.5 kHz here] that it's not a big deal. They're using 6.25 now.

I monitor in mixed mode using both RAN & PL tones. Keeping the PL's in the codeplug knocks out a lot of rfi noise but still allows analog traffic to unmute the radio.

Vern, would I be correct by using these three frequencies with both RAN tones (50) and a respective PL tone:

UNION CO SHERIFF
155.730 - RAN 50; PL 206.5
151.055 - RAN 50 ; PL 203.5
155.580 - RAN 50; PL 206.5

UNION CO FIRE/EMS
154.190 - RAN 50; PL 91.5

The 155.730 is ok
The 151.055 I've never heard any traffic, analog or digital, so I can't say that it's in use.
The 155.580 is licensed to Towns Co SO. Union (I guess) possibly uses it for mutual aid. If you're going to listen to this one, look at the Towns Co. listings as they use a different RAN code (25).

UC Fire/EMS 154.190 is ok (EMS Paging/FD Dispatch)
UC Fire TAC 155.085 RAN 50, PL 71.9 (FD Paging)
UC Fire Backup (Black Mtn./South County) 154.145 RAN 50, PL 107.2
UC Road Dept 155.925 RAN 50, PL 210.7

Good luck with it.
