Has anyone heard that Union county is switching to a VHF High Band system and when they plan to start using it? Also ive heard that Montour is doing the same thing?

Regarding Union County, can someone confirm a switch has been made off the low band completely?

Also, are these frequencies interagency or just for police? The submission was worked by another admin who put them in police. It was not clear in the submission whether these are multiagency interop channels, though:

County-Wide --- 155.11500/156.09000 (136.5)

Mobile Ops 1 --- 151.31000 (D464) -- Unit/Unit only
Mobile Ops 2 --- 153.83750 (D464) -- Unit/Unit only
Mobile Ops 3 --- 153.95750 (D464) -- Unit/Unit only
Mobile Ops 4 --- 154.04750 (D464) -- Unit/Unit only

Im almost certian that they are only police channels because I've never heard any fire or ems activity on those channels at all.

Reference to Union County 155.115/156.0900

Going back several years 155.115 was P-4 EMA Tactical for Union County Emergency Services and 156.0900 was listed as P-7 PD Tactical or Mobile. I no longer live in the area so I can't tell you how they are used now. Also only the EMS/MED channels have switched to UHF for primary operations. I only know about the EMS/MED channels from visiting the area a few years ago.

The only thing I would see low band being used for is mutual aid into one of the counties that are still operating primarily on low band.

As of 1900 today Union county's low band vhf channels are no longer active, an all call was issued at this time stating that they are now using their high band vhf system. But alot of companies are keeping the low band mobiles in their trucks for response in to Montour and Lower Northumberland counties
