Just an FYI - The township will soon be adding 501.1625 & 501.2375 to the TRS (if they haven't already).

As soon as I get the LCN update, I'll update the database...

Thanks for the reply! My friend that's a long-time officer on the force told me yesterday that radio repair has not been in yet to do the radios.

I was wondering if they where going to keep with the 'lowest-to-highest' style of LCN ordering...

As far as I know, not yet. Wait until I get the info that radio repair has been out to do the radios, and then it'll be safe.

On an EDACS system like this, changing the LCN to the new list when the system itself hasn't been upgraded yet will lead to serious amounts of missed traffic...

Over the past couple of days communications has been doing a lot of radio reprogramming for all various services using the union township trunking system. So far it looks like police, fire, dpw and schools have been worked on.

From the talk I'm hearing over the air there may also be some changed within the talkgroup assignments. Should be interesting to see how much changes.

They were also talking about adding county mutual aid channels to the their trucking system and moving the ems talkgroups around.

Thanks everyone for the Union Twp updates... I have a mother in law on Liberty Avenue near spruce street and my wife works on Morris Avenue so these updates and comments on Union Twp are very helpful.

Does anyone know if the LCN update by scandal accurate of that could change as well with the new programming ?

Well it looks like another Police Agency is P25 encrypted you can now add Union Twp Police EDACS, Looks like they may have turned it on today and is currently on there Dispatch Channel, We can only hope it doesn't spread into Fire and EMS service.

My personal feeling on this is this garbage does not belong on the airwaves and we only disappear when the first public servant gets killed because the radio system hangs up or something crashes in the system. NYC Fire learned why can't everyone else.

Also after doing some monitoring this evening it seemslike some unitshve itand some don't
also it seems on some transmissions they turn it on and other itis turned off. Can any one of our Union Twp EDACS experts shade some light on what's going on.

Interesting. I've been listen to them all day and haven't noticed any digital traffice on their system today, that's not saying there wasn't. I do, however, use a 795d with a P25 card so maybe that's why I didn't notice.

However, I did have my 247t on for awhile but I didn't notice digital traffic on union twp while I was listening. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I have a 796D is was coming up P25 / ENC, I think they had a sensitive job that they did not want an address put over the air. They address send EMS there but it was obvious they did not want the location used, The EMS unit stated they where en route.

Anyway I have monitored Union Twp for well over 2 years and never knew they where
capable of encrypting a signal.

One the way home from work tonight I observed Union Twp using P25 encryption on there EMS Operations channel. Does anyone know if they are going to wind up doing this system wide ? And if they do why ? Still going to hear there jobs on Cencom, MONOC North there Union County Fire and EMS M/A channels etc etc etc, There Low band fire band and there EMS UHF repeater. Anyone with any insight I love to the reasoning behind this.

I've been monitoring the new freqs but haven't heard anything on them yet. As Tony M. mentioned he has heard some digital traffic on the township's system but I personally have heard any yet. Let's just hope that they don't take the whole system digital.

Monitoring Union Twp today they continue to switch over to new portable radios.
Most of the new radio chit chat can be heard over the Fire training and prevention
groups. I been using the old system and hearing everything so I do not think the
new channels are in use yet.

Confirmed feelts using p25 at least in part time...

My buddy who's an officer on the force told me that radio repair has been in to do the additions & changes. They are going to move EMS around in the list as well as the new FD TGID's you guys have found.

He told me some of the high-ranking brass probably have encryption on their radios, but remember that the system is EDACS, I don't know how you guys are getting P25 traffic on your scanners (as I believe, even if they have implemented a limited amount of ProVoice, no scanner would stop on it as valid data).

I spoke with him last Friday, and he's going to talk with his 'close contact' to get me all the proper info...

Thanks... Encryption of Police is understandable but fire and EMS
no reason for it. Also when they are Encrypting transmissions it
is coming up P25.

Please note....the two new frequencies....501.1625 and 501.2375... are up and running BUT they are LCN 6 & 7!!!!! NOT, I repeat NOT LCN 1 & 2!!!!

If you put them into LCN 1 & 2 you will not hear anything!!
