The National Guard and IU Emergency Management and IN-TF1 and local agencies are conducting a full-scale urban search and rescue exercise in Bloomington this week:
Indiana National Guard will use IU Bloomington facilities for search and rescue exercise: IU News Room: Indiana University
I have just started monitoring (was out of town earlier), and am hearing related traffic on these SAFE-T talkgroups:
IN NG OPS 2 (39872) - military-style comms, callsigns sound something like "COLE" followed by a number
53 MCF OPS 1 (21008) - Bloomington Fire Dept
Just picked up a small bit of traffic on IN NG CMD (39840), may or may not be related.
Have not heard anything on the SAFE-T mutual aid TGs yet.
I don't know where to find IN-TF1 at. I tried the federal UHF channels at Federal Disaster Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference but haven't heard anything. Of course I don't know if IN-TF1 is playing right now.
Sounds like the exercise is at an old IU fraternity building today, but at some point they will be at the old post office and I may try to take some photos from a safe area outside the perimeter. Will try out Close Call too.
