Hi,

First off, I'm new to Unitrunker.
I installed version 1.0.0.19.
The program installed just fine.

When I try to run Unitrunker, I get this error message twice, and the Unitrunker window never even loads.

---------------------------
Uniform.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The PC is an XP SP3 machine with an Intel Celeron Processor and 1.25GB RAM.
I also pasted more detailed system info below...

I went back through the previous Unitrunker versions.
1.0.0.11 is the most recent version that will run for me.
Versions 1.0.0.12 through 1.0.0.19 all produce the same error message.

Thanks,
Kendall

Hi Kendall;

Go to your %TEMP% directory and look for a file named something like ...

Uniform.20110123-123456.dmp

That's a crash dump. Depending upon where the program was at - it might not have created one. It it did, please send it to me.

Unfortunately, I didn't find any dump file in the %Temp% directory.

Thanks,
Kendall

Thanks for the advice.

There is at least one other program (sndvol32.exe) giving me the same error message.

Since I'm not sure how to narrow things down, I'm leaning towards doing a reinstall of Windows on this machine.

Thanks again,
Kendall

Fixed

I was too stubborn to reinstall Windows.
I finally found the solution... see below...

Thanks,
Kendall

As posted by "EasyFix" on Microsoft Social Answers:

You can fix the problem with this registry script:
------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32]
"midimapper"="midimap.dll"
"wavemapper"="msacm32.drv"
"wave"="wdmaud.drv"
"mixer"="wdmaud.drv"
"midi"="wdmaud.drv"
"aux"="wdmaud.drv"
-----------------------------------------------

The K-Lite Codec Tweak tool has a special audio fix that restores the above registry entries in case they are missing. A few versions (4.x.x) of the tool wrote the complete file path instead of just the file name. Some buggy applications fail because of that. This issue was fixed in version 4.1.2 of the codec tweak tool that is included in K-Lite Codec Pack 5.6.1 (and newer).
