Rick,

Is there any reason that Unitrunker needs to have a bandplan entered in for each particular site in a SmartZone OmniLink system? It seems odd because Motorola radios can only have one bandplan per system and this is common across all sites. It seems pointless to have to enter the bandplan in for every single site of a SZOL system when it always common across all sites.

Sorry if I come across as being critical - but i've just had to enter the same data into Unitrunker 144 times (3 zones of 48 sites) and I can't see why...

I would make much more sense to just enter a bandplan for a single system ID and its' delegates rather than doing it for each site. This is how Motorola trunked radios are programmed also...

Cheers,
Matt

There are SZ systems where the bandplans for two neighbor sites are different. It's possible for one neighbor to be VHF, another UHF. Obviously the bandplans wouldn't carry over. One idea kicked around was to have a "push to all sites" menu option in the bandplan editor.

Push all sites option sounds like a great idea. Would save a lot of work, specially when you live in a country in a state with a huge omni-link system with 3 zones and the first two are pretty full up with sites.

If you create the "push" option, we'll still need an option to edit sites individually to adjust the band plan, even though it will be a rare need.

For example, in my area, system 5C1D, most are on the standard plan, but I've confirmed that two of the sites in my area are on a splinter plan and probably will not change due to the sites transmitter location to the Mexican border.

In fact, there are two transmitters on Mt Lemmon. The site with the antennas facing north is standard, the site with the antennas facing south is splintered.

In that case, you just won't use the 'push' option, and set them up induvidually anyway.
