Just wondering why the default color for the source id, target id and target labels are always set to this light green color that I can't hardly see on my display? I know I can change it but then I have to go in and change every id to another color. So I was wondering if there is a easier way?

I've used bright green for new IDs for ages. You can edit your group or user template to a different color. New group or user will appear with whatever color, listening priority and text label as your template. See the tool buttons on the System window.

I set my background color to black, like the older DOS Trunker. It seems to make all of the other colors stand out better.

I know I can change the color of groups but with so many RIDs they are all this color too and can't go changing all those. I just wish the default was a different color so I wouldn't have to totally change the settings on my display just so I can read the numbers.

I remember on a mac it was pretty easy to change the screen to black and white, but on windows not sure. Tried the high contrast and was better, but then it blacked out some menus and couldn't read them.

Why not? You can select multiple rows and click the Inspect tool to edit all in a single edit window. This is true for groups and users.

You CAN change the default. That's what I've been telling you in the previous post.

As for changing the theme, colors should be set in pairs. If you change the background color, set the corresponding foreground color to contrast. As you noted, black text on black background won't work

How did you install it? The installer normally places the software under the Program Files folder, not your Desktop.

Your shortcut designates the working folder where your configuration is stored. Make sure the shortcut points to a folder that permits read and write access. Your configuration can designate another folder for your data. The default is the same folder as your configuration.

I thought I read somewhere you install it, then from where it is in the program files folder, you then create a shortcut somewhere else where it can write to which is my desktop, then next time you run it the files show up in that folder on the desktop. So that's what I've been doing. I can try uninstalling it yet again, 3rd time now, and installing it again. Just getting confusing for me, (not your fault though), since I use so many programs like trunk88, pro96com, dsd and still new to all this so trying to keep remembering how to install each.

So for unitrunker, install as usual to the program folder, then do i just leave it there and create a shortcut on my desktop? I thought i read that if you leave it in the program folder you don't have write access so it won't save things properly. So that's why I created a folder on my desktop for it to run from, or write to.

I see no point in reinstalling.

The installer creates a shortcut under your Start menu. That shortcut sets the working directory to a folder under your %APPDATA% folder. If you create your own shortcut, it's up to you to set a working folder. You will need to take care to be consistent in which shortcut you use to run the program.

If you don't need the data folder to be different from the working / configuration folder, leave the data folder path to the default which is a dot "." which means "this" folder. The data folder is set on the Options tab of the main program window.

Try these two tests.

1. Program startup recovers your receiver settings.

If you can't get past this, check the shortcut's working folder.

2. Program startup recovers your systems.

If receiver configs reappear but system data does not, check the data folder path on the Options tab.

Thanks so much for taking the time. Its working fine now. I installed it again just to be sure to remove my stuff. Upon installing again it still had my settings and system. Then I made some color changes to groups, exited and then started it again and those color changes where still there. So like you said my probably was the shortcut I created. Now its saving everything so I will set the colors like you said above and then won't have to worry about losing all those changes.

I still love your program though and run it with pro96com all the time since pro96com is a bit easier to read, but once I sort out colors in yours it will be also. I like how yours catches a lot more info too, everything really, where pro96 doesn't but also captures things on its own too. Unitrunker even helped me sort out errors to a system recently since it kept telling me I was missing a control channel, and showed 6 missing frequencies. So then I ran trunk88 and it found them. Then I put them back into unitrunker and off I went. Great program.
