Hi Ron;

The decode log confirms you are indeed monitoring an EDACS system. I'm looking for the Tuner log. It should be in the same folder as the decode log. The Tuner log captures the messaging between radio and program. I'm hoping for some insight into what's happening.

Is the tuner log somewhere else? I set logging and this is what came up. Thank you for your help, hopefully we are getting close to solving this.

On the signal receiver, go to the VCO tab and maximize the window size. Scroll to the very bottom and you will see a separate logging option in the VCO tab. You can't see it unless you maximize the window size. This is separate from the logging option on the "info" tab, it's a bit confusing. Also the decode log and tuner log appear within the same folder, if both logging options are enabled.

Thank you, I will create the log and resend it here, after my honey do list, of course :)

I did a test with my 396xt to confirm I'm getting a tuner log, the log box at the bottom of the VCO tab is not the tuner log, at least on my system. I checked the log box under INFO and it gave me a tuner log.

I then proceeded to put the 346xt on but when I click start I don't get the call history window to pop up showing the Site and frequencies I'm monitoring. I put the 396xt back and it pops up as soon as I click start. I'm leaving the call history window open as I close the 396xt and put the 346xt back on, after I click start it shows it is running but under the pick a site tab, in the 346xt window I pick a site and click ok it goes back to unspecified under system and site and channel is blank, have to redo it and goes away again. Again, I put the 396xt back and no issue.

I am lost.

Finally, here is a tuner log for the 346xt. It appears to be running a Limbo system, it won't keep the one I select.

The program issues a few commands at start up. I don't see any commands sent to the radio.

With logging turned on, start the radio - let it run for a few seconds - and then stop radio. Please post the resulting tuner log here.

Two additional tips:

Delete any junk / unwanted Limbo systems from the Systems tab.

When the Limbo site window appears; it will display "Frequency Needed" next to the control channel. Enter the frequency (use F2 to enter edit mode).

The tuner log is attached per your instructions. I deleted all Lombo systems, didn't know what they were anyway. When I went to pick a site, another Limbo showed up as well as the window that shows frequencies. I attempted to pick a site and request the site I need but it won't stay, it goes back to a Limbo site, in which I deleted it and then when picking a site it won't stay, no more Limbo, so far.

Hi Vancouver Scan;

Was the radio tuned to a control channel at the time the tuner log was created? Was the CC dump feature turned on at this time? I did not see any control channel information from the radio in this last dump. It does appear the program and radio are able to talk.

I don't believe a CC was there since it won't allow me to keep the site I pick, even when all Limbo sites were finally deleted, so far they haven't come back, yet. Yes, CC dump is ON.

I know, this doesn't make any sense as to why it is not working. I went back to 396 and works like a charm.

I appreciate your help Unitrunker as well as everyone else.

If there is anyone that would consider speaking with me, then possibly remotely take a look at my computer setup to see if something ridiculous is going on that I don't see.

Ok, I made a file, just an FYI, the system wouldn't show up that I keep checking, only a limbo system? but it did show connection to the program and this is the file it created:

Any ideas on how to resolve this. Any others using this setup, would you chime in and let me know what might be a solution, I think unitrunker is stumped as well.

No hope for this setup?

I am quite surprised, this situation has the experts stumped as there is no further input on this problem of mine, I've sent in what they asked for. I must be the only one in this hobby that wants to set up Unitrunker, DSD+ & a Uniden 346XT to monitor ProVoice or any other format for that matter.

This is a sad day for our hobby, mine in particular when no one wants to help a fellow Hobbyist. Hopefully no one else finds themselves in this position here on RR, that would be the start of the demise.

I think you are missing the forest from the trees, please read the following comments very carefully:

The Uniden data port is a fairly obscure feature with very limited utility. As the name implies it is a DATA port, and AFAIK it can only be used to feed a signal receiver in Unitrunker. Therefore even if you got your 346XT data port connection working correctly with UT, you still couldn't monitor ProVoice. That would require (1) a Unitrunker signal receiver, and (2) a Unitrunker voice receiver with the output piped to DSD+. In order to establish a Unitrunker Voice Receiver, you must have a discriminator tap in your scanner, or a $20 rtl dongle.

I appreciate your comments, I do understand that I require a voice receiver as well, which I have set up already, I have this working with a Uniden 396XT, I need the 346XT to work so I can go back to using the 396 for other things. My Voice receiver is a Uniden 15X and works quite well.

Since I have so many scanners I haven't considered the rtl dongle option, yet. Can you imagine, I can't get this to work, I would go nuts trying to figure out the 2 rtl dongles.

With dongles it's the exact opposite, they give you raw discriminator audio out of the box. There is nothing to "figure out", you just install the zadig driver (very easy), plug them in and they work. Also, how is the 15x acting as a voice receiver, did you install a discriminator tap?
