So here's my next question in my quest to get Unitrunker up and running.
I've finally got my pre-amp from CanaKit/Hobbytron that was recommended in another thread and now I'm trying to make sure I connect it correctly. It looks pretty straight forward, but I wanted to check with you experts...
From the tap on my radio I need to go into the mic input on the pre-amp, correct? This is simply a mini-phone to mini-phone connection as I see it.
Then from the pre-amp, I need to go into my computer, correct? The pre-amp has just two simple posts for me to connect to. I'm assuming I could get a simple piece of wire, attach a mini-plug on one end and then solder the other end to the two posts.
Obviously, I need to get a 9v battery to power the unit. Also, if I had good soldering skills, I know I could mount this inside my radio and power the pre-amp from there.
But for a basic, external connection, is it really this simple?
Are there any pitfalls I am missing? Tip polarity? Etc?
Thanks in advance for your help.
William
