Here's an example of what a 32byte ASCII formatted raw bitstream would look like:
Code:
R1,7E1F87E00FFE1F803FFFFFE0F800007FFF0001FFFC1F003E000000003FF0001F
R1,07C00003FFFFC00F83FF07C00F8000FFC0007C3F0003F0FC01FFFE1FFFFF0000
R1,000001F803F0FC00007FF0FFFF0FC3FFF801F0001F07C0007C1FF8000FFFFF00
R1,3E007FFF07C0007FFF003E0F801FF83E0FFC1F00000F8001F80000003F007FFF
R1,FFFF00001F8001FFC3FF80000FFFFF003FFFFFE007C00FFFE0F801F0000007C1
R1,F003FF0001F07FFFF801FFFC1F07C00FFC00003FFF800007FE0FFC000FC01FFC
R1,3F00001FFFE1FFFFFFF83FF003E00001F00000F83E007FE0FFC00003FF07C000
R1,000007C1FFFC00FFFFFF8000FFC0007FE0FFC1FF83FFFFC00FFC1F0780007C1F
R1,003E00FFE00FFE1F87C00FFC0007C1FFFFE0F8000F801F003FF00000FFFFF000
It's more serial bandwidth than the raw bits packed 8 to a byte, but it gets along nicely with the commands and such. This is running concurrently with MaxTroller, so it can both tune on command and stream 18khz bits.

I was unable to get the 'dumper' Mot3600 decoding to run in real-time on the Arduino, so this is as close as it gets.

Unrelated feature request:
It would be great if there was an option to set the Logging Directory for UniTrunker.

Right now, it logs to
C:\Documents and Settings\GroundLoop\AppData\Roaming\UniTrunker
in Windows7.

The C: drive isn't very big, while D: has plenty of room to store weeks of logs.
I can't seem to find any way to aim the log directory elsewhere.

See data path option on Options tab of main window. You may have to manually move existing R and S folders.

You can also tell Windows where to locate your profile directory.

Ah.. I see it now.. "Path".

Something else I noticed in .22 -- TWO channels in the Site display can be lit up in the "Voice" color at once. I noticed this when I discovered the Voice color option and set it to bright green.

My voice channels are not changing color when they are active. I have changed the color to a couple of different colors, but it still stays the default. This is on a system i manage so the data has been imported from one version to another. Is there something in the system's data files perhaps that could be preventing this?

Any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, it just dawned on me im not using a second radio for voice decode...

It would rock if you could designate TWO radios for voice decode.. one handling the highest priority call, and the other handling the second-highest priority call.

Or one to handle P25 and the other analog.

You can configure as many radios as you like - in any role - signal or voice. If you can stand to listen to two or more calls at once - go for it.

For multiple signal receivers - five discriminator tapped sources will keep your CPU very busy. Inline receiver is much less so you could likely run 15 such radios with little difficulty.

How does UT decide what channel to tune the two radios to?
Or for that matter, how to tune one radio?

Is it the lowest of Source ID & Dest ID priority?
The second radio gets what -- next lowest?

If another higher-priority call starts, which radio gets retuned? I guess I'll try it and see.

And seriously, I will PayPal cash money if it helps get this Parking bug fixed. I'm SOOO close to having an awesome multi-MaxTroller system for receiving, but it's darn near useless with every call getting interrupted by Park or a less-priority call.

The tuning speed is phenomenal when driven by UniTrunker -- much faster than Uniden's TrunkTracker even with one TRS monitored.

Qualified call goes to compatible (digital vs. analog) idle radio.
If no compatible idle radios and qualified call out ranks the compatible radio with the lowest priority - that radio gets preempted.

Sorry GL. I'll have more time after this weekend. Family obligations.

Tags vs. Labels in Call and History panels

The RR DB description field is imported into Unitrunker as the Label field. I use the word "Label" because it's shorter - fewer pixels. Same logic goes for "Join" vs. "Affiliation" and "Login" vs. "Registration". System engineers like using big words.

I've added an option to toggle between displaying the lengthy text label and the more terse Tag field. In the current (yet to be previewed) release 23, this affects both the scrolling history panel and the call progress panel. This would also affect per-talkgroup and per-user history panels. The source field is often a radio, not a talkgroup - but I didn't have a "Tag" field for system users so I've added that.

I'm toying with having three modes - Label, Tag, and Both. If you're missing lots of tags, the Both option will put something there (likely cropped). Alternatively, I could do Label vs. Tag but a blank Tag would defer to the Label field. That might be cleaner.

What say you?

Oh yeah ... the call fade time is now adjustable. Default is five seconds.

Sounds like a plan to me. I'd love to see a tag option and the option to have both. :)

We getting any closer to RID import from a text file? :D:cool:

Yes, Rick I like the idea to toggle to either or both on the talkgroup tags. What will happen to historical data? In other words, if you toggle during a live capture is all the activity in the lower window going to instantly change or will it just change from the moment of either or both is selected?

Also, regarding the 5 sec fade, is there a way you could code a "permanent fade"? In other words, some channels on a large site don't get used to often. It might be nice to see what talkgroup activity took place on any particular channel until assigned again. Perhaps this could be a toggle to activate this feature or not and there could be a "permanent fade color" indicating that the talkgroup 'was' there.

All history and call panels should update right away.

Double click the source or target (audience) cells in the call panel to see who was there - even after the call has faded away.

(I don't need this, but thought it was interesting)

If you double-click on the LCN or Frequency, it brings up a panel for that Channel.
The panel has a History tab, but it's unpopulated.

Yup. The plan was to provide event history on all objects - sites, channels, groups and users. I never filled out the channel history (and so far noone seems to mind).

Duuude... after all these years! Thank you!

Now if we could just get that 'Hold' button back.... LOL!
