Well I goofed up. Trying to update the UCA system here in Utah, and I wiped out all the talkgroups and user ID's that I've entered/found, over the past year. That's how long I've been using this computer. Word to the wise,,,,,be very careful when you click "delete". Bad thing is, this is the second time I've done this over the past 10 years.

With so many options for back ups of data you might want to look into starting to use one. They really aren't expensive and can save you a lot of time and aggrevation if you do accidently delete something (twice). I've learned this from experience, so I know how you feel.

I found that Unitrunker automatically backs up and saves the data. I found the data that was saved a couple days ago. Now I am trying to figure out how to xfer the saved data, to "in use" data. It can be done. Just need to figure out the procedure.

In unitrunker,
in the left pane,
the bottom buttons show:
Options Receivers Systems Archive
Click on Archive
On top, click on the clock icon (take me back)
select a date

i have had to do this when the Winbook got unplugged & went dead
Unitrunker looked like I had just installed it.

That worked. That worked. Thank-You, Thank-You, Thank-You. I knew there was a way, I just wasn't seeing it. Thank-You. It is nice to see the different colors again. Only thing different, is pick a date, then click the clock.
Again, Thank-You.

I had my own Unitrunker crisis this week.
my Uni. operates on a Winbook upgraded from Win 8.1 to W1n 10.
Been running faithfully for months, until I took it to work.
plugged it in, booted up, and no Unitrunker.
couldn't find any archive files. Had to make a new install.

At home I began searching for .xml files.
I found two Unitrunker folders, the old one with archives,
and the new one just created.
Deleted all the files dated 07-23-2020.
Copied & pasted the archive files into the new folder.
Fired up Uni. and all the systems showed up.
What a relief!

Look here:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Unitrunker\

You may have to change windows setting to show "hidden files and folders". Then look at the size of the backed up files named like:

Unitrunker.xml.x where x is a number.

Use the file with the larger file size and you should get stuff back from the date of the file.

I think a lot of us have had this scare at one point or another. I've since switched full time to DSDPlus, but same deal... I know have an automated backup run twice a week of the folder.

If you're on Win10, check if File History has a backup of your data file.
