• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey all! First off, thank you for the wealth of information everyone has shared. After a ton of research I bit the bullet and bought a xg 100p. Finding the parts I needed was a chore. But I finally found everything I need.

Almost.

I've purchased three different belt clips. All ads have said they fit my radio. None of them have. There is a channel on the back of the radio that clearly accepts a corresponding clip. Every clip has the metal bracket that should fit in those channels. But they are all too wide. I'll try to attach a picture to illustrate the problem. This can't be that complicated lol! Slide the clip in till it locks in place.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? I'd be pulling my hair out if I had any!

Thank you! Mine looks nothing like that. The flanges that SHOULD slide into those grooves are way too wildly spaced and the metal they're made from is much thinner. Now that I look at it, the bracket is too big and wouldn't allow the battery to be installed even if it did fit in the grooves. That's disappointing because the company I ordered from seems well regarded and I really like the metal construction of the clip. Thanks again for your reply.

Sounds like you have a wrong clip or maybe one that snaps onto a specific brand of battery. The clip in my picture is the only one I've seen for the 100P.

It's definitely the wrong clip. It is exactly like the other two I bought that said they were for the 100p. I emailed the business I bought it from. They haven't done a great job with speed and responsiveness. So hopefully they'll get back to me in the next seven to ten business years.

I appreciate you sending the picture. At least now I know I'm not as dumb as I was starting to suspect I was
