The program was released in 2020, and it has been a while since the recent update.

But is there a replacement or alternative program that allows the filtering/sorting of recordings that USAP provides?

There has never been a replacement or alternative with the same functions and abilities as this program. The author was from Russia and updates stopped about time the conflict over there started, hopefully he will return to the forums one day.

Why do you need a replacement/alternative? What feature(s) do you feel the existing app lacks? It functions fine for my filtering & sorting uses, YMMV

It depends of what you want to do that USAP cannot do.

The author of the program stopped being active on Russian forums at the same time as RadioReference so it could indicate that he was drafted by Putin to serve at the front and he haven't been seen active ever since that time so the worst outcome are that he didn't survive. A better outcome are that he went underground to avoid being drafted and will turn up when the war is over.

Well Proscan offers selection (by query) and sorting of recordings to some degree. Not the same exact degree as USAP but... @b52hbuff you never indicated what scanner(s) you're looking to use the app with. Proscan supports most present-day Unidens

I have a bunch of P25 recordings that were made in ID search mode that didn't record a TGID. I need to dig deeper to see if the issue is in what was recorded or how the files are being processed.

I also have an outstanding question about whether the audio files from the new SDS150 could be read by USAP.

Yup. I totally understand the "geopolitical backstory" here, just didn't want to get too side tracked.

I have a reminder that I schedule about every three months to see if there is new activity on the USAP thread or new posts from the author.

As long as they're .wavs
I think it might be a little more complicated than that, because the program has to read meta tags. And my understanding from some interactions with the author of the program is that different radios had slightly different usage of the fields.

It reads the tags off my SDS100 just fine. Doubt there's much of (if any) a tagging difference versus a 150 but I'm sure I'll be promptly corrected if I'm wrong

Have not used this in a while but, these Mp3 (DSDPlus) were imported via Add Folder. Have you tried doing that?

Use any Hex editor and read that wav file.

When I look at hex adress 0470 I see the frequency in plain decimal numbers and at 04A0 and forward are service type and other data and between 04A4-04A7 are the TG in hex, so use the calculator in Windows in its programmer mode to convert those 4 bytes to decimal.

If you see any other random numbers grouped together in about that area in the file it could be the missing TG and USAP didn't expect to find a TG at that adress.

Do you see any TG when you play that file from the scanner? You copy the whole folder with the date to the scanners recording folder on the SD card and go to Settings/Replay Options to select that specific file. If the scanner didn't detect the TG properly then it couldn't save it to the wav file and no program can recover it.

That is a great idea about loading the files back into the scanner to see if it displays the fields that USAP isn't showing.
