Not sure what the heck I've stumbled across but during a frequency search between 463 and 465 Mhz I'm stumbling across what seems to be digital comm's (not P25) on numerous channels, such as 464.9625, 464.625, 464.3125, 464.4625 and others. It sounds just like P25 audio does on a non-digital scanner, but my 796D won't make heads or tails of it. What the heck am I listening to? The FCC says these frequencies are business frequencies in use by places like Target and the Mesa Unified School district and that sort of thing which makes even less sense.

The next step is to fire up DSD and see if it can recognize any of it, but that won't be until tomorrow. In the interim, I thought I'd post to see if anyone else knew what these frequencies are being used for. Coming in very strong here at 32nd street and baseline area. Quite the little mystery.

DMR, Mototrbo, or NXDN take your pick probably Mototrbo as the Motorola sales creatures have been pushing its use all over the 450 to 470 band up here.

Several Banner hospitals have apparantly gone to MotoTrbo in the 453 MHz band for their security and/or maintenance staff. Just FYI.

OK, so I break out the old 895 all set to fire up DSD and I notice that the RCA to 1/8" cable I keep connected to it at ALL TIMES is suddenly NOT CONNECTED.

I hunted high and low for this cable, only to come up empty. Talk about frustrating. So I still don't know who this is, but business users on Mototrbo makes sense and I'm sure that's what I will find when I get this thing up and running finally. I will see if I can find that missing cable this weekend.

Ahhh the joys of moving.... ugh.

OK gang, got an update for you - got DSD fired up on the 464 frequencies and sure enough, it was Mototrbo in use. The one frequency I found that worked the best was coordinating cab activity at Sky Harbor. Gotta love that DSD, what a great program.

What other TRBO frequencies have you folks come across? Anything interesting? After the "neat factor" of receiving a mode that I hadn't before wore off, it got a bit boring to listen to cabs being sent to various terminals at the airport. Wondering what else might be out there that I can monitor.

I believe some security at Westgate/University of Phoenix Stadium/Jobing.com Arena use Mototrbo.

If you need a new audio cable go to target and buy one lol, then scope the radios one of the associates has. Sorry I had to.
