Unknown Federal EDACS

This system has been lurking about central Austin for a while.

Unidentified Federal (Austin) Trunking System, Austin, Texas - Scanner Frequencies

It is currently active as Site 13 on control channel 2 (407.075 Mhz).

What's new (to me) is it is advertising two neighboring sites.

Site 11 and site 12 - both with active control channel on LCN 1.

Frequencies unknown. I did not find anything in the 400 Mhz Federal range - but they're out there somewhere ...

Since the VA over in Temple uses EDACS, has anyone thought it might be them? With additional coverage to some Austin VA facilities? Like the Outpatient Center ?

It's north of the river, west of the airport, south and/or east of the Capitol. Signal covers central Austin quite well. Most federal offices fit inside that box. Could be be VA, IRS, USGS, GSA, or who knows what.

My guess would be the Federal Building downtown or Camp Mabry. The Federal Protective Service is pretty active on 410.800 protecting the Federal Building so I don't think it's them. I really haven't been able to hear or nail down Camp Mabry traffic for quite awhile since they were on 149.625.Camp Mabry Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

I always thought it was Camp Mabry. I never heard any voice traffic on that site.

It's not Camp Mabry. Signal seem strongest around Caesar Chavez and I-35.

I never hear any traffic but I don't monitor the system during business hours. Getting some voice would help ID the system.

There are several VA related offices in central Austin.
