Back home I keep several remote ProScan setups running 24/7/365. I noticed a hit on a couple unidentified federal frequencies this afternoon.

173.8250, 225 NAC. Unit was running license plates. By the NAC, I'm guessing this is a yet unlisted Gateway NRA frequency?
168.7625, 167 NAC. FBI by the NAC, unknown use.
171.3875, 293 NAC. Unknown.

Never been nailed totally down but 171.3875 $293 had been thought to be out of VA and maybe Military 167th Security ??

This is Metro-NYC with no apparent long-range band opening unfortunately. Wish we could just keep those trops we had all summer.

FWIW, it's been all license plates and DL's.

just confirming 171.3875 $293 is Plates and DL Checks ?

my next suggestion was scanner latency, I've seen false hit [one-hit wonders] in High RF environments
where the NAC from the prev frequency is still shown on the next frequency.
