150.8750 PL 103.5

159.1650 PL 141.3

169.1125 PL 110.9

All three of these come in clear as a bell in my area (eastern Nassau).

Sounds like public works or transportation.

I cannot find these in the NY frequency db.

Anybody have any info?

I just tried 169.1125 in FCC ULS and the only thing that came up in the entire US was something in Wyoming.....

169.1125 is probably a fed freq based from another post on this thread. Freqs used by federal agencies won't be on the FCC website their freqs are assigned by another agency.

Really? I wasn't aware of that, that's odd that the Federal Communications Commision wouldn't issue federal frequencies...

Who issues them then?

Gotcha, thanks. I guess I can just do band searches.
Our database here has a lot of information, but an old book from (Long Island's own) Tom Kneitel (ex-K2AES/W4XAA-SK) had the breakdowns of what could have been where, although it's like 25 year-old information. Plug in Tom Kneitel Registry into your favorite search engine.

If you find one of the old Police Call books from the late 70s or early 80s, in the back is the table of who could be on what, too. I like the Police Call format because it looked at the bands continuously from bottom to top and you could find the frequency information right there (minus the user).

Wirelessly posted (Moto Droid Bionic: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.2; en-us; DROID BIONIC Build/9.8.2O-72_VZW-22) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30)

Actually, TK started publishing his guide while editor of S9 magazine. An area guide was a single sheet of colored paper, printed on both sides. I helped him with the Philadelphia-area compilation. It was on orange paper. I think he used a PO Box in Commack (?). At the time it was all hush-hush. Only later his name was connected to the business. I don't remember the year any more, but it was soon after I began writing S9's "DX Korner" SWL column in 1966. Those were the days. :)

TK's stealth company was CRB Research and used a post office box in Commack, Long Island which is where he used to live. The mere mention of S9 Magazine brings back some very fond memories!

169.1125 is used by the postal service on LI. The truck drivers usually communicate with each other. The transmitter is in Plainview on the tower north of exit 46 of the LIE.
