I was surfing through some websites today and found the following frequencies listed to Lowndes County SO, but unable to pick up anything but computer tones on them when I analyze the TSYS. I get 99% signal in Valdosta, so I know it is there, but put wildcards in under 800/900 Motorola and unable to pick up anything. Here are the frequencies...

854.887500
855.737500
857.287500
857.737500
858.737500

And group two, under a different header on city freq...

851.012500
851.512500
852.012500
852.512500
853.012500

Does anyone know what these are or what system? Are they Moody?

Shaageptm:

I believe you will find that the second group you listed are the new, rebanded I-TAC channels, also referred to as 8-TAC. I'm not sure what the first group is.

Yes 1 group is mobile data and the other are the I-TAC's which are actually used more in Lowndes than in other areas with trunking systems.

ITAC vs. 8TAC

The frequencies in the 800 MHz range used for mutual aid communications before rebanding took effect were called ITAC. These frequencies are:

1. ITAC Calling = 866.01250
2. ITAC Channel #1 = 866.51250
3. ITAC Channel #2 = 867.01250
4. ITAC Channel #3 = 867.51250
5. ITAC Channel #4 = 868.01250

These channels were for analog conventional use only and were suppose to be deprogrammed from all radios once rebanding was completed in each region. Although it probably wouldn't hurt to monitor these frequencies because there is a possibility some agencies may still have these frequencies in their radios and may use them, especially during a disaster. The main thing radio users need to make sure is they do not confuse the ITAC Channels with the 8TAC Channels because these are two totally different set of frequencies. The 8TAC Channels were established to replace the ITAC Channels due to rebanding and these are shared nationwide mutual aid channels for law enforcement, fire, EMS, EMA, etc.
