I have been recieving a very busy site i can not ID.
Iam using a PRO-163 Trunking scanner able to
decode LTR LCN# and TG, Also the LTR analyzer
attatched to discriminator confirm's info seen on
PRO-163 screen, also using 10db gain omni directional
w LMR-400, 18db recieve amp which enables me to pick
up UHF signal's 200 to 250 miles away from my set-up
in NV just east of Lake Tahoe on CA/NV line at 6000'+
elevation. The site in question is Frequency (451.1875mhz)
(AREA-0 LCN-01) can not find a match that makes sense
in either state Talkgroups are (0-01-112)(0-01-113)(0-01-114)
0-01-114 sounds like a cab company that almost never stops
xmitting. LCN's showing are CH-01,CH-07,CH-13,CH-17 and CH-20 FREE.
Some Data Could be false due SCADA DATA on same freq in
the distance. White noise makes it hard to understand some
of the comms. Iam also picking up idle bursts on 452.0250mhz,
451.3250mhz,463.6125mhz "Fast idle bursts" that wont decode,
far out in distance, but that's a different item not related to this thread.
Buy the way 451.1875mhz has no idle burst's. Does anybody know
where this is coming from? I suspect the San Fransisco Bay Area,(Mt Diablo?)
I do at time's pick-up Mt Vaca repeaters (200 miles away) & Martinez,CA
Police Dept on UHF (250 miles away!) VHF is no sweat from Bay Area.
I do believe i just heard a cab on O'ffarell St? (S.F.) and just now Mission St?,
(Sunnydale? isn't that the housing project's in the southern?)
Again though white noise & mucho interference!
"Anybody know this system or Call-ltr's?"
Using Unit I.D.#'s like "#23 to base" "#24 to base"

Your master site
I've picked up this freq with 0-01 before. Never strongly. In fact I heard it - poorly - driving through Lincoln. It could be something in the SF North Bay but I'm not sure. Your locations are definitely Bay Area though.

I know what's at Diablo (North and South Peaks) and this system isn't. Based on sig I don't think Vaca either.

The fast idle burst sites you hear are very likely LTR Passport sites. Passport is a different protocol than regular LTR and will not decode on any current scanner. It sounds like the system you're hearing is in the city of San Francisco.

RE:UNKNOWN LTR SYSTEM+Some Unidentified Rptrs

I for sure heard the name Vacaville in the jumble of noise later around noon,Signal faded
away shortly after, It will return in morning if weather or inversion layer is just right.
I did however discover that 463.2875 mhz,463.6125 mhz,464.2875 mhz,464.3875 mhz
are some unknown idle bursts ive been picking up 24/7 weak but ok signal are licensed
to Fisher Wireless WQEL631 Mt Vaca with 463.2875mhz xmitting Mototbro sounding
data every 30 seconds or so and the other 3 freqs bursting rapidly maybe 10 seconds
or so with no analog, now and then 1 of the channels xmits carrier with LTR type digital
coded squelch sound but no voice. Could This be a Digital Passport LTR system?
It also wont track or show LCN on analyzer or PRO-163 screen.
The same situation is occuring on 451.3250 mhz & 452.0250 mhz and again i can not
find out where they are coming from. They show up as Fisher Wireless, but in AZ & So
Calif or NV if i remember correctly. I keep at it because i love playing detective & DXing
VHF,UHF it's strange how these signals jump over 10,000'+ Sierra Mtn Range, there are
days when i cant hear anything farther than 25,30 miles. In the mornings i pick-up VHF
from N/E Calif (Plumas,Butte,Sierra Co's) & it night i pick-up UHF Med CH's from same
county's. Mt Vaca has been constant on VHF with Solano Co Sheriff & Sac Co/City Fire
dispatch (VHF) Napa Co Sheriff 24/7 here in NV.
There are 3 other UHF Repeaters coming from Calif (pretty sure) that i cant I.D.
463.5750 mhz/732dpl (mostly spanish) & 464.4750 mhz/103.5 (very busy"harbor point")
was mentioned. Ill get back on (452.1125 0-01-xxx site) i'll listen again tomorrow.
And forgot 463.0750 mhz/156.7 (Banner E.R.) shows poss that is Churchill Co Hosp,NV
but makes no sense when Churchill Co E.R. signs off with Callsign using(pl 186.2) & Banner
E.R. signs off "Banner E.R. clear (pl 156.7)"?

Wayne if your interested to know what i found this morning the site is in the D.B. but info wrong or
incomplete.
"GRIFFIN WIRELESS SERVICES"
"WPMC314" Mt Vaca,Solano County

(FYI the license info shows non LTR simplex use,but frequencys are correct EXP 2011)

LCN-01 451.1875mhz (CONFIRMED LCN)
LCN-03 451.2875mhz (CONFIRMED LCN)
LCN-07 451.4625mhz (NOT CONFIRMED)

LCN-17 (UKNOWN YET)
LCN-20 (UKNOWN YET)

TG 0-01-112 WOODLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BUSES/YOLO Co OFFICE of EDUCATION
TG 0-01-113 WOODLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BUSES/YOLO Co OFFICE of EDUCATION
TG 0-01-114 WOODLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BUSES/YOLO Co OFFICE of EDUCATION

TG 0-01-113 was being used as talkaround or tac channel

(could be more school district buses on here, but all streets heard i looked up and were in woodland)
(scanning all 9 frequencys listed for GRIFFIN on Mt Vaca now to find remaining LCN's)
(two of them are being used over here for Peavine Mtn LTR system)

Hello again,

All the "fast idle burst" LTR Passport frequencies you hear that are licensed to Fisher Wireless belong to this multi-state networked Fisher Wireless TeamTalk system.

Feel free to use the above link to correlate the frequencies you are hearing with specific mountain top locations (so long as they have been previously identified in the database).

Yeah, I agree with you there. I was driving down 5 south of Elk Grove the other day and it was coming in strong. That's when I went license hunting and saw that one.

I'm going through another LTR phase so I've got a bit of info to add one of these days.

I did some research on this a while back. All the licenses to Griffin Wireless actually belong to Signature Wireless Group. The company changed its name a while back. They actually have their coverage maps organized by site, available here:

Coverage Maps

It sounds like you found their Mt Vaca site.
