unknown Panasonic HT antenna....

...I picked up a tapered rubber duck antenna that i can't find any info about on the web....Panasonic EB - AO 117 (japan)......

it's the same size/length as the nominal scanner HT rubber duck, but tapered, and with an easy fit connector that slips over the BNC on the scanner but without the turn lock...

anybody run across this model before ? curious if it came off an old cell phone or cordless phone ? or did panasonic make any business band radios overseas at some point ?

works well, anyway :)

The antenna is an 800 mhz antenna used with their early cell phones. They work great for 800 mhz, but the connector isn't BNC. If I recall correctly, you'll need an adapter.

TNC to BNC adapter, I have one I'll give you.

I have an adapter for this antenna. It's a TNC to BNC adapter and I'll be happy to send you one if you'll PM me your mailing address. I have the same type antenna made by Panasonic. Just to verify, the connector is threaded? This is a TNC connector.

i always suspected it was a 800Mhz cell antenna....

it works great over VHF and UHF too.....
