I want to program a LTR system into my 396T, but I'm unsure if I can.
I've never programmed an LTR system and I'm not sure that I have all the data required to monitor this system.

I'm thinking it's an incomplete database, but there are talk groups listed, so I'm just simply unsure. I find it odd that there isn't a License listed, and I can't find anything in FCC database.

Any help is appreciated.

Looks about right. I haven't listened to non-PS in a while. I'll try loading it up and see what I can hear. The LTR systems don't look like the Motorola setup (although that's about everything I know about LTR).

It looks like the license could be WPPC823 or WPPB889 under Cumulous Communications: Applicant proposes to provide trunked repeater station facilities to persons eligible under part 90 of the FCC's rules and regulations.

Ant,

You can enter it with the information listed in the databse. Just make sure when you enter the freq you add it next to the correct LCN number.

I tried it a couple days ago and it's working like a charm - was a lot easier than I was making it out to be. It was those blank N/A spots that confused me.

The Taxi Cab traffic that I'm listening to is hilarious

I just plugged in the '06' repeater for the Taxi company...There are idle TX's being broadcasted on the channel but haven't heard anything as of yet.

0-06-068 and 0-14-068 are for National Taxi Co.
My buddy is Cab 92

It's a pretty odd sect of society and the radio traffic is pretty curt, stressed, mean, and spastic at times. Bars are getting out soon, so radio traffic should pick up. My buddy is hanging out at Aqua Club right now.

Hey Antfreq just a quick Cabbie question. I often hear "Next on 2" or "Clear on stand 1" and gathered these are Cab stands. It sounds like just a designated spot where they pull up to the curb and wait for passengers, like bus stations / stops, etc. With your buddy in the buisness, does that sound reasonably accurate? My local guys here in Marin County are pretty entertaining to listen to, and I'm going to start a second thread to post what I've found in the wacky whimsical world of unlicensed LTR systems since I got my new Pro-97. :)

Hmmmm interesting. That radio traffic seems a wee bit more formal that what I've been hearing. The radio traffic I hear is a bit like this....

Cabbie: " I'll be up north, if you get anything let me know - don't cheat me out of fares now "

Dispatch: " JUST BACK OFF YA HEAR? RELAX! I'M NOT PLAYING FAVORITES !!! "

I'll have to ask my bud about that terminology. I think you're probably right though - cabs staged or in position for fares.

Haha they do get that way at times. (One guy dropped the hand-mic on the ground and was like "OH SH*T BOSS OH F*** DON'T FIRE ME OK? OK? ARE WE COOL? WE'RE COOL RIGHT???") Marin county seems to have something weird going though where a bunch of companies (at least the four I posted in the other message) are all located and dispatched from the same address which probably explains the slightly more formal consistent approach to it. At night one dispatcher will work all four companies and you'll get one cabbie going "STUPID (other cab company) STOLE MY FARE" and the dispatcher goes "Uhh yeah because I didn't dispatch them there or anything... noooo sirrrrr" (when they totally did ;) ).
