I've had Unitrunker running for a couple of weeks on teh SLC Site, and finally got around to comparing the trunker list with the RR database. The following talkgroups are not on the database. Any help on ID'ing the users is appreciated.

Some identities

From a dusty old list I compiled shortly after trunking came into being here I have the following listed TGIDs. I ASS U ME that they are still valid.

TGID - TALK GROUP
19648 - UDOT WVC (I am pretty sure this one is valid)
43424 - Alpine Public Works (Never listened to this one)
46752 - UDOT Summit/Wasatch (I think this one is also still valid)

------------
From the same dusty list the following TGIDs are within a block of TGIDs that are all assigned to UDOT's Region 2 running from TGID 19808 through at least TGID 20640 (the sheds at Clearfield, Clinton, Ogden, Brigham City, Huntsville, Morgan, Snowville, Riverside, Wellsville, Logan, Laketown). Here again I ASS U ME that they were also assigned to UDOT TGs, but you know how that goes.

20192
20288
20352
------------

I do not have any idea on the others and the list I compiled only went to TGID 48800 at the time.

------------
EDITED TO ADD: I wonder if Rolfman ever heard back from the e-mail he sent to UCAN asking for TGIDs.

All week, with much anticipation, I have checked my e-mail. As expected I got no response. Either way I figure you can't win if you don't enter.

I lost.

2nd Request

Send a follow-up and put 2nd request in the subject line. They probably get a boat load of e-mail every day and they may have just overlooked yours (ya...right...and I have a bridge I want to sell).

No, seriously, try again and see if you don't get an answer. By sending a second request, they will know you were serious the first time. The least they should do is answer you. That is only common courtesy. They owe you that much anyway. If I send an e-mail to a company and they don't answer I badger the dickens out of them until they do. May not help my cause, but I am important too...to someone.

[Course they probably get hundreds of requests a year for that same information.]

Thanks glajlu, it is a start. I have a couple of those dusty lists around also. I'm sure that between this group, we can get these ID'ed one at a time. Next week, I get to bring one of my scanners to work, and it will just scan a list of the unknowns. There usually isn't much traffic on them at night, so I'll give it a try during the day. I am doing the same with the other systems in the valley, so watch for more posts.

A good idea of...TG 38560

I have a good idea that TGID 38560 in the UCAN list is state building maintenance personnel. I have had one of my scanners locked on that TGID for two days. There was absolutely NO traffic on it yesterday (Sunday) but it has been active today with radio traffic concerning water coming up through the floor at one of the State Liquor Stores and some doors that are not operating correctly and a cubicle without power at the UHP Admin. Offices.

Since there was no traffic on that TG yesterday, this is obviously a Mon - Fri organization also.

This TG is in the list posted by gldavis above and since it had the greatest amount of "hits" I decided, unabashedly, to go after it first.

Nice work!

If they are doing work on all state facility they are Division of Facilities Construction & Management (DFCM) I have done a little bit of work for the construction side so this is the maintenance side.

http://www.dfcm.state.ut.us/fm_about.php

Back to the Mystery Machine Shaggy! There are more cases to be solved.

(Actually figured out a TGID for Utah County I am sending in tonight when I get home)
Pleasant Grove Fire/EMS 44256
They had a HazMat incident this afternoon and had to call in a Mutual Aid with Orem City

TGID 38528 - Need some help

I have been monitoring TGID 38528 (my next project) for a day and a half (yesterday, July 24th and today the 25th) and I need some help. There was no traffic on this TG yesterday...well, DUH!...it was a holiday...but today it has been somewhat active (obviously another 8 - 5, M - F job). I am sure it is coming from the Matheson Courthouse. The constant traffic will mention room numbers that match the Courthouse's system of numbering and they are in constant contact with "Control" to open and close pedestrian Sally Ports which is a security measure. However, all of the traffic has to do with maintenance issues, i.e. air conditioning, computer troubles, etc. At one point they mentioned Judge Maughan's office in West 37. Maughan is 3rd District Court's Associate Presiding Judge. There was discussion of going to "The Mansion" and also somewhere in West Valley.

They also would not open a door for an employee while "they are unloading." It sounded like a delivery of sanitary supplies (a company called, "Waxie").

Although they keep contacting "Control" to open and close doors and Sally Ports, this is entirely separate from the two TGs in the SLSO's TGs (1824 & 1856) which are security TGs for the Courthouse. I believe that "Control" is the same however.

I know it is the Courthouse because they just now mentioned "The Family Law Clinic" scheduled for one of the rooms.

I need help with what name this group goes by. Any ideas?

TGs 38432 & 38496

These two talk-groups are maintenance people connected to either the State or the County. Whether they are civilian contractors or government employees is not known.

TG 38432: Some of the traffic on this TG had to do with an alarm on a door at "Natural" that went off at 7:55 am. Someone "...opened a door and didn't get to the alarm shut-off fast enough." [Natural Resources?] The rest of the traffic was, "...meet me in my office..." or something similar.

TG 38496: This one has been the most active of the two and the traffic has had to do with fixing electronic actuated locks, a computer that apparently was not issuing the right commands to unlock a door, and a key-card reader that was causing trouble. They had a toilet overflow in the sixth-floor women's restroom at the Heber Wells building. There was also a problem "...in room #624 on the sixth floor is not cooling down..." but the building was not identified.

Ref TG 38528, I'm going to list it as DFCM Maint Ch 3. That will give it a place till something more accurate comes along.

Ref TG 38496, I'm going to list it as DFCM Maint Ch 2. Again, until something better shows up.

Ref TG 38432, Listing as DFCM Maint Ch 1. Ditto.

I chose the channel numbers based upon the useage of the TG, as well as a throw of the dice.
