I picked up this tone on 154.6000MHz yesterday. It was simplex and was a very strong signal. it went on for several minutes and eventually stopped.

Anyone know what this is?

Sounds like someone nearby is testing tone outs for paging possibly?

Maybe a emergency button pushed on a Baofeng, not sure if they sound the same. Walmart near me uses 154.600

There are several alarm and telemetry type products that use MURS frequencies. It could be something like that or it could be something else.

LOL, those alternating high-low tones in the videos sound like some kind of music you would hear in a horror movie when one of the victims is slowly making their way around the house in the dark and the killer is about to strike.

Garmin makes dog tracking collars that use MURS frequencies. They can be noisy during hunting season.
