Hi group,

I've found what I think is a P25 TRS on 386.325. My '396 is showing a sysid of 0168-0108.
I haven't found any info on this system anywhere. No activity noted so far.
I was in Temecula the other day and I *think* I heard the same system on 386.0625, but with a site number of 0104.
I am hearing this one in Whittier somewhat scratchy, but readable.
Anyone know what/who this is???

Thanks,
Mark

I just tuned 386.325 but did not hear anything, however I do hear a P25 control channel on 386.375. I plugged in 386.0625 and hear a P25 control channel, this one is at full bars and very strong.

For kicks I plugged these into the Corona DXTuner and 386.375 is strong and 386.0625 is extremely weak (had to open the squelch). Yet from my location in Sun City 386.0625 is VERY strong and 386.375 is just so-so. Did not try the Log Periodic, but I suspect 386.375 is coming from LA or Orange County based on the results from the Corona DXTuner.

386.0625 showing up as 0168h-0107
386.375 showing up as 0168h-0108

Wonder who it could be? Closest base to me is March ARB and Camp Pendleton. March is actively using their 138 MHz P25 TRS, so perhaps 386.0625 is from Camp Pendleton.

Hopefully this puzzle can be solved.

For what its worth I tried my remote scanner located in El Cajon, San Diego County and 386.0625 comes in but isn't very strong. Could not hear 386.375 from down there.

I'm wondering if it is really part of this system. The sysid and control channels don't match.
According to the RR Database, the site #'s in the 100's are in Washington, so obviously that's no longer correct, same with the 500 site #'s as I haven't found one of those yet, either.
Camp Pendleton's system is in the 406 Mhz range, so it wouldn't seem like that's it. The site may be on Pendleton, but I can't hear their 400 Mhz CC.
I've tried unning it on UniTrunker, but I keep getting an "unknown OSW" on the Packets portion of the program. Encrypted CC possibly? I'm getting more curiouser by the moment.

Does UniTrunker handle P25 systems? I didn't even try it.

I can't hear Pendleton 406 MHz TRS either but this 386 one comes in great, so I don't know if it would be from there.

I just tried Pro96Com and here is what it says about 386.0625

CH--------------Freq----------------Useage---------------Type
02-0485--------386.0625----------c-----------------------Control
02-0497--------386.2125----------a-----------------------

If this is Pendleton, they must be pushing some serious power. I can't ever hear much past San Clemente on a good day! I'm getting 2 bars on a handheld. I wonder what the point of this system is if most of the military installations have their own individual systems? Plus there are systems on 3 different bands! I guess interoperability isn't too big of an issue for them.
Brandon, PRO96 com is pretty sweet! I haven't been a big fan of GRE scanners since I had a PRO-92, but it's things like this that could change my mind. UniTrunker will do 9k6 systems, but the documentation mentions using a "buffer amp" to fix the signal going into the sound card, which must be my problem. I wish I knew where to find a buffer amp......

The system isn't in control of by CP, it's more a joint powers type thing with a site located on the base (in a diff location from the UHF one IIRC). It's been active for a long time and seems to be very slow going for installation. Site 107 above isn't even linked to the master site.
