• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi gang,

Here in the Kansas City area, I have been tinkering with 3 type 2 900 systems but I can't find record on any of the freqs in the FCC database or on this site. I cant imagine they are running unlicensed but why else would there be no record of any of the freqs in any of the 3 systems? I have done local and nationwide searches for the known system freqs but none came back to KS or MO. 2 of them are smaller 4 freqs or less but one is rather large @ 20 freqs and oodles of users. These systems have been here for at least 2.5 years.

Here is one of the smaller ones. Business use.Any ideas.....????

SYSID 7f03
900 type 2

939.325DV
935.5375DV
938.0625V
939.8125V

Thanks

Liscenses could be expired, or are not yet renewed,..... there are so many "unliscensed" radio systems in this country that it would take a whole website just to document them, much less all the pending systems that are iether brand new,.. or are getting changed, or are up for renewal. But if you can ID by the sysID, and the users on it then you are doing good! Log all the info you can as far as sysID, TG's and the users as well as all the frequencies,.. and submit it for your area and maybe one of the admins can find out whats up with it,.. and maybe verify it and get it in the db.

I can tell you one thing not wasting your time doing. And that is reporting the unlicesned operation to the FCC. They don't care. I know since I did exactly that when I was in New Mexico earlier this year.

Really, as far as the RR DB is concerned, we don't care if it is licensed or not, just if we can confirm it is there and operating.

Could be one of your local power companys, almost all of them these days are on 900Mhz. Listen and see if you can determine what they are talking about transformers ect... Just might give you a clue.

These are auctioned 900 MHz block licenses (YD radio service). The other 900 MHz systems probably belong to Nextel (licensed under "ACI 900" and "FCI 900").
